Hiromu Moulinette

Hiromu Moulinette
Born in Kyoto, he switched from the digital world to analog handicrafts and established a workshop. Currently, he has a workshop in Yame City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
He is one of only three craftsmen in Japan who makes a living making karakuri dolls. He specializes in contraptions, from contraptions using wooden gears to Japanese clocks using metal gears. He also works as a puppeteer for Yame Fukushima's toro dolls, which are designated as important intangible folk cultural properties by the government.
They also make obi-dome and hairpins used by geishas. They are decorated with maki-e, metal engraving, mother-of-pearl, inlay, etc., all done by themselves. In principle, all work is done by hand. They also make paper mache and tusk carvings. He also dyes tea using tea as a dye, and uses the dyed thread to create Kurume Kasuri and kimonos.

In addition to working as a craftsman, I also work in design, writing, translation, and photography. We also repair arts and crafts using methods such as kintsugi, and restore and restore local toys. Currently working on a project to elevate traditional industry to art.
In the hope of being able to make our own tea to use in our tea carrying doll demonstrations, we are regenerating abandoned tea fields and producing small quantities of carefully selected tea that uses native seeds, pesticides, and chemical fertilizers. .
He has won many awards in painting, three-dimensional modeling, and design, including winning the Japanese Folk Art Exhibition and the local toy category, the MEPPS ART CONTEST Excellent Work Award, and the Carver's Comp Second Grand Prix.
Numerous domestic and international TV media appearances, numerous domestic and international media publications, and numerous domestic and international media articles.
