Etsuko Kanoh
I am making corroded copperplate engraing. I live in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture. I studied copperplate engraving at Iwate University. After graduating, I left my creative career for a while, became a freelance illustrator, and resumed full-scale copperplate engraving. When I was a student, I focused on abstraction, but after resuming it became concrete. After that, I joined the Nippon Exlibris Association and started making exlibris. And since I experienced the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, I have been conscious of living in this Tohoku region and "waiting for spring".
Completed the special art course-education course at the Faculty of Education, Iwate University (study under the late Tadashi Maekawa, arts and crafts / copperplate painting course) I worked for a design company and left production for a while. 1994 I built an atelier at my home, bought a copperplate press, and in 2000 I was freelance. I became an illustrator and resumed printmaking. I joined the Japan Exlibris Association in 2002 and produced my first exlibris in 2004. 2007 Exlibris Festa in Sendai (Fureai Esp Shiogama) 2013 Sponsored by my Exlibris exhibition (Sendai / Gallery J 2015) Sendai-Kathmandu Exchange Exhibition (Kathmandu, Nepal) Japan Bookplate Association Open Call Exhibition Silver Award (Nagoya / Gallery Hoan) 2015 Two-person Exhibition (Osaka / Gallery Bi-damas,Kawagoe / Gallery USHIN in 2017) 2016 Tadashi Maekawa + Nine people exhibition (Morioka / Daiichi Gallery) 2018 Exlibris Space Exhibition (Tokyo Kyobashi / Maison de neko 2019) 2019 Let's buy prints and decorate them at home!
